Great time there but more due to the people rather than the place, in need of renovating.
Very helpful staff.
I froze because of the opening in the window. Couldn't close it and there's no heat.
Its location and the friendly staff
The toilets which are unclean and shared by 100ppl or so!
The location right in the middle of the centre
The behaving of the guests after 10pm and it deedn't seem as if any of the staff bothered.
That u can't take visitors up to ur room. Even during the day!
This was for my son in Sydney. Boking was made but the hostel knew nothing of it. He had to paya again in cash. Confusing and made life difficult.Room was small and very basic.
It is really dirty and smelly. I'm fine with small/uncomfortable rooms, but the rooms at maze smells musty and has weird patches of black sticky stuff on the carpetted floor. We booked a private room for 3 and we ask for a change of rooms, and realised that all the rooms are smelly and dirty. Dust and cobwebs everywhere.
Sorry, didn't like it at all. But if you're on a tight budget and you like getting drunk every night this is your Hostel! But visit the thai restaurant right next door!
The employees weren't friendly at all. The rooms were very small and smelly, the bathroom was filled with fungus and not clean at all. Most of the time they ran out of toilet paper....
Really messy and dirty. I've been in others chep hostels but they weren't so bad.
Everything: The room smells and it is noisy all the night.
The location was excellent and I had great interaction with all staff.
Location is great, just few minutes walk from Chinatown, Town Hall, Museum Station and Coles Supermarket.
Toilet is about dirty.
We arrived to a very untidy room. No sheets, saw dust all over the floor, no curtains, a ladder against the wall and a matress that was too big for the bed. Everything in the place either looked or was dirty. People left rubbish everywhere, like used cotton wool buds etc... It was generally an unpleasant experience. Some of the staff gave you the impression that it was a chore to assist you too (although some were helpful too)
Location, cheap, hot water
Too noizy if rooms are close to street
Basically used the place to leave my bag during the day. Hostel was fine. Quite busy and good location. Basically cheap and cheerful
Stayed in a single room, bit like a jail cell but cheap. Bed to sOft for my liking. I'm not a backpacker and will probably stay in a hotel next time. Over hostels
